06 januar 2022
Health service has always struggled with the problems of recycling large amounts of waste - both medical waste and cardboard, foil, plastic or organic waste. Check how vertical balers will increase the efficiency and ease of waste management in medical clinics and hospitals.
Disposal of medical waste in accordance with the lawxxxxx
(NOTICE: this section must be re-written and adjusted to local law)
xxxxxxxBased on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of October 5, 2017 on the detailed method of handling medical waste (Journal of Laws of 2017, item 1975), correct categorization of medical waste is of key importance for the proper management of waste in hospitals and clinics.
xxxxxxxAccording to the regislation, segregation of medical waste comes down to collecting it in containers or bags at the place where it is generated. The reduction of waste in a medical facility consists in the preliminary storage of the generated waste on the basis of its properties, the method of its neutralization or recovery.
xxxxxMedical waste is stored selectively on the basis of the classification specified in § 3 par. 1-3 and 5 of the cited Act, in a refrigeration unit placed in a specially adapted room.
xxxxxMedical waste management concerns waste included in the regulation. These include waste:
Waste management (not only medical) in hospitals and clinics
While the legislator precisely specifies and regulates the handling of medical waste and the methods of segregating this type of waste in hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities, it does not regulate the methods of reducing the amount of waste and effective management of waste other than medical waste.
Among the key problems faced by hospitals and clinics is a large amount of waste resulting from the transport of drugs, medical supplies or other medical devices.
These include, but are not limited to:
Medical facilities generate huge amounts of plastic and cardboard waste, which without a proper waste reduction strategy is a serious problem. Poorly optimized waste management reduces the effectiveness of a medical facility and has a negative impact on the natural environment.
Vertical balers, which have been successfully used in the medical sector for years, are a solution to this problem and complement the policy related to the treatment of medical waste.
Baler: small machine, big profit. Why is it worth investing in?
Our devices have been supporting medical facilities in effective waste reduction and optimization of internal waste management for many years. Hospitals and clinics most often choose small balers of the B3 and B4, which perfectly fit into small spaces of utility rooms and provide easy and intuitive operation. Thanks to this, even unqualified personnel is able to safely and efficiently handle them.
In addition, vertical balers are extremely versatile. The devices are equipped with a wide ejection opening (770 mm in the B3 and B4 models), which ensures a convenient reduction of cardboard and foil waste. Both devices are also extremely quiet. The B3 model generates 65-68 dB during operation, and the B4 model generates only 57-60 dB of noise. As a result, the work of the baler does not disturb either the employees or the patients.
Balers meet stringent safety standards - their operation is not only simple but also safe.
