Balers for small spaces

Struggling with space in your facility? Our compact waste balers are designed to fit in limited spaces – without compromising on power or performance.

Compact machinery with uncompromised power

Even in small spaces a vertical baler can transform your internal logistics.

Space constraints shouldn’t prevent efficient waste handling. Whether you’re operating a small shop, a busy warehouse, or a production site with narrow corridors, Bramidan offers space-saving balers that transform your internal logistics.

Our vertical balers are engineered to handle cardboard, plastic, paper and other dry recyclables. And thanks to their compact design – some with no external cylinders – many models can be placed directly against a wall or beneath low ceilings. This makes them ideal for backrooms, storerooms, and areas with minimal floor space.

Looking for even more flexibility? Choose a vertical baler with a sliding door (SD) to allow loading from the front or side, helping you save space and work more efficiently in narrow rooms.

Recommended machinery for tight spaces

These space-efficient waste balers are ideal for retail shops, supermarkets, logistics centres and small production areas. All models feature low noise levels, easy operation and safety compliance – making them perfect for staff-operated environments.

VERTICAL BALER

Baler B4

The B4 is packed with nice extra features that you don’t find in other small balers. Enjoy high compaction and automatic bale ejection.
VERTICAL BALER

Baler X10

A compact baler with high capacity and an unmatched 10-tonne press force. Low height and small footprint make it easy to install.
VERTICAL BALER

Baler X25

The X25 is equipped with long stroke cross cylinders for a stable compression and superior press force. Expect a high bale weight.

Balers that can be placed against a wall

Making the most of your available floor space is essential in smaller facilities. Several of our vertical waste balers are designed for wall installation, helping you optimise layout without sacrificing capacity.

For instance, front-mounted strap holders make it easy to tie and eject bales, even when the baler is placed in a tight corner. These balers are also easy to access and operate, even when space is limited.

VERTICAL BALER

Baler B5 Wide

The B5 Wide is characterised by a wide filling opening of 1 metre. It is specially designed to handle bulky materials.

Baler B20

A flexible baler for cardboard, paper, and soft plastic. A wide filling opening for large boxes and retainers to prevent in-chamber material expansion.

X-Series Machinery – A different cylinder design

If ceiling height is a challenge, the Bramidan X-Series balers offer a smart alternative. Their unique internal cross cylinders allow for a lower total height, making them ideal for placement under warehouse racking or inside small utility rooms.

Despite the reduced height, these vertical balers deliver high compaction ratios and are built for heavy-duty performance. They’re suitable for large volumes of cardboard, shrink wrap and other recyclables – and offer long stroke and fast cycle times for better productivity.

Choosing the right door configuration

When working with limited space, the type of door on your vertical baler can make a big difference in day-to-day operations. Bramidan offers several door options to help you maximise space and streamline your workflow – even in tight backrooms, narrow corridors or under mezzanines.
Sliding door chamber close up

Sliding doors (SD)

Sliding doors stay open during loading, making them ideal for high-frequency waste input. Once the chamber is full, the operator pulls the door down manually to start the press cycle — and when the cycle ends, the door opens automatically.

  • Always open for quick and easy loading
  • Reduces contact with door handles and moving parts
  • Great for frequent or continuous waste input
  • Available on B30 Wide SD, B50 SD, B50 XL SD

X10 vertical baler

Standard door

Our standard door configuration on all Bramidan vertical balers opens manually to the left and is simple, safe and easy to operate — ideal for conventional setups where space is not restricted.

  • Easy to use and familiar for most operators
  • Reliable and low-maintenance
  • Suitable for most waste types and volumes
  • Available on all vertical balers
Vertical baler automatic door chamber close up

Automatic doors

The automatic door option is designed for high-efficiency operations. It opens and closes automatically during each cycle, eliminating the need for manual door handling. This ensures fast, hands-free loading and maximises productivity and operator comfort.

  • Fully automated for high-throughput workflows
  • Minimises manual effort and risk of strain
  • Ideal for cardboard and repetitive waste types

Can I install the baler outside?

Yes – in certain cases, installing your vertical baler outdoors is possible. However, specific precautions must be taken to protect both the machine and the operator, especially under European climate conditions.

While indoor placement is generally preferred for ease of access, temperature control, and protection against the elements, outdoor installation may be suitable if space is limited or if the baler needs to be located near an external waste area.

To ensure long-term reliability and safety, consider the following when installing a baler outside:

  • The machine must be sheltered under a permanent roof or canopy to prevent rain, snow and moisture from damaging the electrical components.
  • If the baler is exposed to cold temperatures, hydraulic oil rated for low temperatures should be used to prevent thickening and system failure.
  • The baler should be placed on a stable, flat concrete surface with safe operator access and clearance for loading/unloading.
  • Electrical components must be protected from water ingress – we recommend weather-resistant (IP-rated) enclosures and regular inspections for corrosion.
  • Local safety guidelines and electrical codes must be followed, especially when working outdoors with industrial machinery.

Not sure if your baler is suitable for outdoor use? Contact our technical team – we’ll help assess the site and recommend the right setup for your needs.

Periodic Inspections & yearly maintenance

To keep your baler running safely and efficiently, regular maintenance is essential. Routine service not only minimises the risk of breakdowns but also extends the life of your equipment and ensures continued compliance with health and safety regulations.

We suggest periodic inspections and yearly preventive maintenance to ensure your machinery is functioning optimally.

Here’s what a typical annual service visit from a certified Bramidan technician includes:

  • Full inspection of hydraulic components and wear parts
  • Hydraulic oil check and replacement if necessary
  • Functional testing of safety devices (emergency stop, door locks, sensors)
  • Inspection of electrical systems and control panel for faults
  • Pressure testing and compaction cycle adjustment
  • Operator guidance and maintenance tips

Why regular maintenance matters:

  • Avoid expensive repairs due to wear or overlooked issues
  • Ensure safe operation for your team
  • Maintain optimal compaction ratio and energy efficiency
  • Stay compliant with EN safety standards (e.g. EN16500)

All Bramidan balers are built for durability – but like any industrial machine, they work best when properly maintained. For maximum convenience, we offer flexible service contracts and can tailor a plan to suit your site, waste volume and usage frequency.

Want to take maintenance off your to-do list? Equip your baler with BRA-IN for real-time alerts, remote diagnostics and detailed performance reports – so you stay in control of your waste management.
